During Sligo’s designation as European Volunteering Capital, we’re bringing the voices of volunteers to the forefront of our events programme. Each month, join us for Volunteer Voices in cafes around Sligo – volunteers share their story/organisation as well as an an opportunity to share and record the great stories of volunteering and its impact.
Kindly supported by Homeland, Deepwater Quay, Sligo, for the month of September, we are taking Volunteer Voices outdoors as part of Sligo PARKing Day. Stay tuned for our exact location in Sligo town.
Sligo PARKing Day happens for one afternoon of the year, in cities all round the world and is in it’s 15th year this September. It’s open to all members of the public, arts, designers, individuals and groups. These mini public parks often feature planting, seating & opportunities for play, live music etc. It is an exciting day when participants are free to be creative & active in shaping their streets, engaging with their community and actively re-imagining the streets together for an afternoon.
It promises to be a really special afternoon on the streets of Sligo as it presents endless possibilities for social interaction, diversity, generosity, critical thinking & a welcome dash of fun fun fun. Feel free to get in touch with us for more information and to find out how you can be part of it!
