Join us for our monthly Volunteer Voices meet-up where volunteers share their story and discuss volunteer opportunities. For the month of November, we look at the topic of international volunteering and discuss opportunities available.
We are delighted to have guest speakers including:
– Local Garda Ray Wims who has been helping with the refugee crisis in Eastern Europe.
– Riadh Egan who has volunteered three times with a project in Thailand through Letterkenny IT as part of her Gaisce award.
– Sligo Volunteer Centre staff member Paula Naughton who has recently returned from volunteering in India and Nepal.
– Local dietician Cathal O’Hara who spent ten weeks in Togo volunteering as a dietician through VSI (Voluntary Services International).
We will also have information from Comhlamh on reputable sending agencies and Ultan from Sligo Library’s Europe Direct Centre (EDIC) will have some info on the EU’s volunteering programmes.
This event is free but please sign up here so we make sure we have enough scones and coffee!
