Clann Credo, Ireland’s leading community finance provider, is delighted to announce that it is launching the first in the series of ‘Learn, Inspire, Share’ series of free Workshops in Sligo on 4th May. This is to acknowledge Sligo as the ‘European Volunteering Capital 2017’.
For over 20 years Clann Credo has been committed to supporting community-based volunteers in Ireland. It provides Community Loan Finance to help maximise the potential of projects.
In recognising the individual contribution community leaders and volunteers make, it does not ask them to provide personal guarantees for its loans.
The needs of these voluntary groups are unique and as well as supporting them financially, Clann Credo is offering volunteers and community leaders training and support.
The ‘Learn, Inspire, Share’ workshops are designed to help the volunteers who work on the projects that Clann Credo supports with Community Loan Finance.
The theme of the Sligo workshop is ‘Sustainable Fundraising’ and will include: developing a fundraising plan; understanding funding vs fundraising; tips for fundraising applications; engaging with stakeholders and understanding the role of communications in a successful fundraising campaign.
The Sligo Park Hotel is the venue for these workshops on 4th May and they run from 6-9pm.
The workshop will be facilitated by Caroline Egan, an experienced fundraising specialist and strategist in the voluntary sector.
“We are delighted to be kicking off out ‘Learn, Inspire, Share’ series of free workshops in Sligo,” said Paul O’Sullivan, CEO, Clann Credo, “Volunteers have a transformative effect on local communities and this has been particularly acknowledged in Sligo when it won the European Volunteering Capital title for 2017. We want to help volunteers through training and support as well as with Community Loan Finance.”
Members of the Clann Credo Community are invited to nominate two people to attend the workshops.
